So, who is KARE?
You may find yourself here because you feel that your pet needs some extra Kare. Think of Kare as the "Cool Aunty", that extra person to come in and show your special family member some love.
Kare provides not only a service for you and your pets, but a family. Bringing a loving and caring nature into your home, giving you the confidence and reassurance that your pet will be cared for with the highest regard.
MEET THE TEAM
Alicia
Alicia is the owner of KARE alongside her husband Brent. She’s been dog-obsessed since she was little, a mum of four (two kids and two dogs), and has spent the last 15 years working in grooming and pet care, building a business grounded in trust, care, and treating every animal like family.
She also looks after our boarding dogs in her own home, giving them a calm, safe and loving environment while their families are away. You won’t often see her in photos or on socials (she has a strong ongoing professional relationship with the camera where they respectfully avoid each other), but she’s very much at the heart of everything KARE. Anyone who meets her quickly sees just how caring, genuine and dedicated she is to the animals in her care.
Safiya
Safiya has been a part of the KARE team since February 2021. She is the kindest yet most energetic soul and she’s everyone’s go-to person whenever we need anything!
When she’s not doing our very important admin work or at uni doing Naturopathy, you’ll find her (or hear her) having a big play with dogs on their walks, combining her herbs or curled up in bed with her precious girl Arly and a good book.

Aysha
Meet Aysha, our very own Lego enthusiast, musical theatre geek! She joined KARE in October 2024 and has been absolutely immersed in everything we do. From walks to pet sits to grooming and even joining our admin team. Her dedication to all things cats and dogs makes her a perfect fit for the Kare Team!
You’ll rarely catch her without a dog by her side, but if there’s an odd occasion she’ll be busy crafting, building, or performing on stage, engrossed in some creative activity.
Maddi
Adaptable, empathetic, and driven, Maddi loves putting in the work—especially when it’s for something she cares about. A self-proclaimed old soul, she enjoys quiet moments, cute cafés, and tending to her plants. Maddi joined KARE to be surrounded by people who are in the animal industry for the right reasons. She’s passionate about grooming and values being part of a supportive, like-minded team.
Abby
Abby is one of the newest groomers here at Kare. She’s a down-to-earth girl who loves working with dogs and is completely obsessed with her German Shepherd. Outside of grooming, Abby enjoys day trips, trying new food spots, spending time with family and friends, and taking her dog on adventures.
After following Kare Kanine on social media for a while, Abby knew she had to apply when she saw the grooming position advertised — and we’re so excited to have her on the team!
Jess
Jess is adventurous, cheerful, and a proud chihuahua lover — especially her own little girl, Mabel. Outside of work she loves bouldering, travelling, gaming, and anything arts and crafts. She joined Kare to be around people who love animals just as much as she does, while also continuing to build on her grooming skills. Jess loves getting to know every pet’s personality and making them feel comfortable and cared for.
Alex
The queen of baking, Alex has a knack for making dog treats look so good that even humans want to buy them! A lifelong animal lover, she’s found her passion at KARE — rescuing and reuniting lost pets with their families and fostering animals until they find their forever homes.
When she’s not surrounded by furry friends, Alex loves gardening, spending time with her own pets, and adding new touches to her ever-growing pet room. Always up for a laugh and a chat, she’ll greet the pets before their owners — and we’re so lucky to have her on the KARE team!
Kirra
Meet Kirra, a passionate animal lover who constantly convinces her partner to adopt more pets. She enjoys spending weekends snuggling with her pets, reading, going for nature walks, and trying new restaurants. Kirra also fosters and rehabilitates animals in her spare time, earning the title of “spicy cat whisperer” for her ability to find the perfect homes for them. She dreams of having a property with all animals and even opening her own animal sanctuary. With her love for animals and generous spirit, Kirra is the perfect fit for the Kare team and will treat your pet as her own.
Lara
Lara, a true jack-of-all-trades, excels in various fields, from axe throwing to stage management and antique instrument collecting. She’s passionate about caring for animals and has done it all, from pet sitting to dog walking. Her genuine, dorky, and curious personality makes her a perfect fit for Kare, as she embraces the team’s variety and adventure.
Payten
Payten our Fascinating mix of philomath, selflessness, and boundless energy, wrapped up in a love affair with the wonders of flora and fauna. This science nerd finds joy in unravelling the mysteries of the natural world, often immersing themselves in the great outdoors, especially during serene walks through national parks.
Chenoah
Chenoah is a total outdoors enthusiast. He’s always on the lookout for new hobbies, from rock climbing to biking. But despite his love for adventure, he’s also found a sense of calm and connection when he works with animals. He’s only into something that truly fulfils him. Since he joined our team, Chenoah has found genuine joy and peace in what we do.

Lily
Calm, easy-going, and a happy person who finds pure joy in the company of dogs. With a background in vet nursing and a heart that’s welcomed 10 foster pups (and counting!), dog walking is more than just a job for her — it’s a passion. She’s absolutely amazing with our more anxious pups.
When she’s not hanging out with furry friends (which is rare) you’ll find her creating art or soaking up the sunshine at the beach. She always treats every dog like her own and makes sure they feel safe, loved and enjoy every interaction.
Laura
Laura is a lifelong animal lover who’s always dreamed of working with animals. When she’s not out caring for dogs, she enjoys live music, camping, nature hikes and road trips with her greyhound, Trip.
She joined Kare for the joy of spending her days walking and caring for dogs, and is planning to study animal behaviour and training. With a long-term goal of training service animals, Laura brings a calm, thoughtful approach to every pet she looks after.
